Well Pet USA – the name says it all. We care about pet wellness and their needs. Making a pet well entails many things; it is a daunting, yet doable task. A rescued pet may suffer from physical and emotional abuse and WellPetUSA’s mission is to free the pet from this abuse.
WellPetUSA Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 IRS-recognized non-profit organization. It was founded in 1996 by Amber Pedraja and Dr. Luis G. Pedraja. WellPetUSA provides fundraising and community pet education and welfare, to distribute funds to local and national organizations to assist in the health of animals. From 1996 through 2000, WellPetUSA held private and public pet adoptions, collected donations and worked with numerous veterinary doctors, volunteers, and organizations.
In 2000, the founders and the board felt that a more focused direction was needed and decided to concentrate the organization’s efforts in the areas of fundraising and community pet education and welfare. Thus, two new programs, The Meow Bow Wow fund and Pet Education, Awareness and Training (P.E.A.T) were created in 2000. Amber’s Pets was created in 2008.
- The Meow Bow Wow Fund raises and distributes funds to rescue groups and the general public to help offset medical costs.
- Amber’s Pets was created as a memorial to our founder and raises money for needy rescues or families to treat pets with cancer.
- P.E.A.T is a program designed to educate the community and pet owners about pet welfare.
